When I restart the Atlas, the dash lighting is OK. The dealer still says there is nothing in their VW international service database as of several weeks ago.Īs stated by another poster above, I have to turn off the vehicle, lock it up, walk about 30 to 40 feet away and wait a minute or so. Last summer, my dealer tried re-flashing the software for the instrument lighting module and it seemed to work for a while (a few months) but then returned. Hello all- Finally I'm seeing VW owners with the crazy dash dimming problem here - thank you! I have a 2022 Atlas SE and I posted this problem on the the Atlas Forum last year, but no one else was having the problem there. ![]() Everyone please enjoy your Taos and good luck with these flakey cars! When I restarted the car everything was normal. It was like the car was in complete darkness! When I got to the Walgreens drivethru I turned off the engine for a good 5 minutes until all the dash lights went out, finally the little green Auto light on the light switch went out. When I tried to turn off the lights with the switch the message came up to Please turn on the Lights. When I pulled out of the garage I could barely see the dash and radio screens and the sun was bright - it was 5pm on a July afternoon with no clouds. I swear this forum is haunted! As soon as I posted this I went to run some errands in the Taos and it did it again. On the S trim the sensor is on the front middle of the dash. I think I even stopped the engine and restarted and it was still doing it, It hasn't happened since though. This happened to me once it was dusk outside and the sun was at a weird angle and when I manually turned the lights off a message came on to please turn the lights on. ![]()
